Bridezilla's First Aid Kit

Japan - Hakone Trip

I am about to write about our Hakone trip. I wish I could skip this and move on with other places we have embarked. It is so exasperating; I don’t even want to think <or talk> about it. For the very first time, I burst into tears in front of my babies <sighs!!>, the tears of disappointment <heartbreaking point>.

That day is our last day in Tokyo. It’s raining and cold. We went to Ropongi for Hard Rock merchandise before we head for our Hakone Trip. To be honest, we are looking forward for this trip. This trip should be the focal point of our trip. Hubs wish to see the Mt Fuji, and me.. I just want a picture of me near the Torii gate. Simple wish it might seem. <Apparently it is not that simple>.

From Roppongi we head to Shinjuku station for our Hakone free pass. It cost us 5000 yen each and it’s free for Sara and Noah. We took a Romance Car from Shinjuku. FYI, the Hakone free pass is all-include pass. But there will be a surcharge of 870 yen (from Shinjuku one way) and seat reservations charge when using a "Romance Car" limited express train.

It’s still raining when we arrived in Hakone-Yumoto. It is so cold and cloudy. Noah started to cry, inconsolably. We knew it is too cold for him so we immediately find something thick and warm– luckily we found it. He fall asleep soon after and we continue our journey by bus.
After 35 minutes, we arrived in Moto Hakone, where we disembarked. The rain started to stop but it is still very cold and cloudy. This should be the best place to view the beautiful lake and breathtaking Mt Fuji.. But we have seen..None! The clouds and poor visibility block the view. All we can see is white cloudy thick mist.

Seriously it is so frustrated that it make me burst into tears..Pronto! Sara being so sweet when she hugs me and keep calling me..Mama..Mama. Hubs look a bit panicky but he always has nice words to say. He promised to take us here again and told me to enjoy this cold thick fog in the mean time.

From Moto Hakone, we take a cruise to Togendai-ko. The beautiful pirate ship is full of people so we choose to pay a little extra for class deck. We get so comfortable inside, we almost miss the Torii gate. I want a picture of me with that Pretty Orange Torii gate really bad.. But hubs were glued at his seat and too tired to go to the deck. So I just take a picture of the Torii gate- without me in it. <Sayang, you better take me here again!>

From Togendai-ko, we take Hakone Ropeway to Souzan. We decided not to stop in Owakudani as it’s getting dark and I know we can’t see much due to limited visibility. Along the ropeway, we saw breathtaking cloudy white fog view. Yes, I am being cynical if you must know. Huh!

At Souzan, we disembarked and went on to the next mode of transportation, the Hakone Tozan Cable Car to Gora.
From Gora, it’s a 40 mins ride on the Hakone Tozan Train back to Hakone Yumoto. This is Japan's oldest mountain train. Too bad we don’t see a single damn thing but white fog!

It had been a long tiring day. The only fun from this free pass is the ride on the different mode of transportation with white cold fogging view. Sighs.. And thanks to this trip, Arisara finally can tell the differences between the bus and the lorry. <Yeay!!>

I consider us not so lucky on this trip. Well better luck next time! Another great excuse for revisit perhaps.. :)
